Avril Lavigne

Again I am doing the whole body of work and not just one cd.

The Hatred I hold for her is like no other. PUNK MUSIC CANNOT BE POP MUSIC. Dear Deity! Punk princess? Ugh. If there's one thing I hate its "soft punk" or "pop punk" . Honestly. There's no such thing as soft punk, you're either punk or you're not. Its an oxymoron. Shes pop music just like Britney Spears. There's nothing punk about this girl.

Shes just cashing in on the latest wave of factory produced crap. Her music is just the same bubblegum pop people have been selling for decades recycled and repackaged for a new generation of clones. Its second-hand music. Hell, its more like fifth-hand music. Her lyrics are even usually taken from other songs and redressed!

Really there's nothing good to say about it. There's nothing artistic or soulful about it. There's nothing intelligent about it. But hey if you like bubble gum pop, shes the perfect artist for you to buy into it. If you have taste..you'll spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. I give her a 1 out of 5. Again this is all just MY opinion. You can think for yourself.

Voltaire

Voltaire in my opinion is a great artist. yes I know, two out of two reviews I like the artists. But so few people know about him I think he deserves a review.

His music is quite different from the mass amount floating around out there. It is often described as dark cabaret or darkwave. Sometimes referred to as gothic folk music. It usually always includes a variety of instruments such as the violin. I love the violin, its my favourite instrument, second being the guitar.

Instead of reviewing one of his Cd's I am reviewing his whole body of music. From The Devils Bris is 1998 to ooky spooky in 2007. Voltaires music may take a bit of adjustment when first heard as it really is unique, but its definitely a great listen. He has a great voice and it suits the instrumental background of his music, they blend together perfectly, at least in my opinion. Voltaire himself plays the guitar while other band members play the various other instruments such as the violin, bass, piano, cello, trumpet, clarinet, and drums. Its music you will really fall in love with. So much sounds the sound these days you need something different in your ears.

Voltaires music has also been on TV in such shows as Billy And Mandy. He also is in another band called The Oddz. You should check them out as well. Anyways. 5 out of 5. I promise next time to review someone I hate....I promise. Sorry for the short post.

Introduction and First Review

Hello. This is my first post in this blog. On this blog I am going to review music and write my review of it. You may not agree with it, that's fine. Post your comments. This is simply my own opinion. Really I have no genre I solely listen too so I will be covering pretty much all genres. If you have a request for something you want review just comment.

Rihanna- "good girl, gone bad"

I really liked this girl. Her music is great. At least to me. Its great dancing music. It you want an artist you can dance the hours away with, this is your girl. I love the beat on her songs. And shes a great singer. I think everyone no matter how secretly likes to put in a good CD and just dance like a crazy fool. You may be like OOhhh no not me, but come on..you know you do. Just trying to look all tough in front of your friends. hmm hmm. Shame Shame.

I find most artists today all just sound alike. To me she doesn't sound like anyone else. Other people may sound like her but they just aren't any good. I think her voice plays a part in making her sound unique. Its like everyone can write a pop-like dance song but few can do it well. She sort of reminds me of Destiny's Child before they broke up and Beyonce got with Jay Z...yea...

I especially loved the song 'Please don't stop the music'. It really is a great song to dance too. It has to be my favourite song by her. I highly recommend this artist for all your dancing needs. I give her...5 out of 5.

Please don't think I will love everything I review. It just happens that I loved the first artist I listened too to review.
